Sequel to Eyes Only for Me
Eyes of Love Book Two
Marcello Bagnini has a history of falling for the wrong men, and it seems he’s done it again. Working out at the gym with his straight friend Jerry is becoming harder by the day—in more ways than one. Worse yet, Jerry isn’t the only one who notices Marcello’s wandering eyes. So instead of risking his friendship with Jerry and alienating the other guys at the gym, Marcello keeps his feelings to himself.
Real estate agent Jerry Foland has never explored his interest in other men, but there’s something different about Marcello, and Jerry’s starting to think he might like to see where his attraction could lead. However, Jerry’s controlling father makes it clear that it’s either stay on the straight and narrow or Jerry can say good-bye to his family.
As much as they try to stay away from each other, their lives overlap, both at the gym and when Jerry is contracted to sell the home of one of Marcello’s friends. Friendship grows into more, but Jerry’s father has his own agenda, and it doesn’t include having a gay son.

I was slightly disappointed by the first in this series because I just didn't like Ronnie, who eventually was roped in and tamed by Clay in a G4U play that left me a little cold. Both make frequent appearances in this sequel which involves two of the same group of 30-something gym buddies we got to know in the first book. Although neither Marcello (background on the cover) nor Jerry played prominent roles in the first book, this one digs deeply into their guts and rips open their lives, quietly and without public displays, that from time-to-time Ronnie and Clay are welcome relief--as well as catalysts. Both Marcello and Jerry are closeted in their own ways--Marcello's parents refuse to believe he's gay, Jerry's father is a disgusting homophobe. I found it interesting that both of them were of Italian-American ancestry (even though Jerry's last name doesn't reflect it), and this blending into their semi-blue collar community in Pennsylvania is accurate, if sad at times.
There is a lot of angst and conflict in this one, including a nasty climax and denouement that is not quite settled at the end. But this is Andrew Grey and he once again handles the plot twist and resolution perfectly. I wonder if there's a third one coming in this series. If so, I think there's a potential MC who floated into this one along the way briefly--and if there is, I'll get that one, too.

Eyes Only for You Eyes of Love Book 2 edition by Andrew Grey Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Excellent
The depth brought me to tears. This is a definite must read for m/m enthusiasts
I liked this sequel, however I had some issues with some inconsistences sees. There was never a time of Jerry's reaction from book 1 that was addressed. Also his that appeared was never mentioned. Plus I miss that Philip was not in this book, I hope that the next book is about Philip and Bobby to complete the workout friends finding love. I loved Marcello and how he and Jerry interacted with each other.
I always enjoy reading Andrew Gray--this was my second book by this author, and his books are well written, his characters well-developed, and the story credible. One can enjoyed the escape into his world of intrigue and fulfillment, because his world is believable and not fantastic. he researches his subject, preparing himself thoroughly before begins his journey into the world of creativity to share his vison with the reader.
This read was a very enjoyable follow-up to Eyes Only a For Me. Jerry and Marcelo are work out partners with Clay and Ronnie. While the circumstances that brought these two individual couples together are different, they both showed that love is love, regardless of the "packaging". Jerry and Marcelo's relationship also showed that you must stand up for your beliefs, despite what others, especially family, may feel. Mr. Grey has again written a wonderful, in depth romantic story.
I've read many of Andrew's stories but this one just fell flat. The MC's are mostly one dimensional, the storyline is more of the same with maybe straight guy, maybe not until the gay guy "gets under his skin. God, why is this happening?", etc. Throw in one obligatory set of hateful parents--straight guy's, of course--and all is settled with little depth or detail. Oh yeah, gay guy gets beat up and it causes maybe-straight-now-gay guy to confess his love to unconscious-but-not-really-soon-to-be lover.
There is sex but if you're hoping for a lot of details, not there. Chest hair? No clue. One guy has brown eyes, the other, don't know. One is "lean", the other "shorter but solid"??? That's about it.
In short, boring and nothing you will miss by passing on it.
Somewhat disappointing. I have been an Andrew Grey fan for quite a while and have usually enjoyed his books, but this one was a bit flat. The plot was quite clichéd, and the characters not especially interesting. The bisexual guy afraid how his parents will react. The domineering father. The guy hurt once by one failed relationship to a bisexual. His "I don't want to deal with your sexual orientation parents," and just about all their friends were gay and gym buffs. This last not exactly something which I can get interested in. (Wow, how many hours they spend at the gym).
Many of Grey's stories keep you interested. But this one -- a bit boring and "oversexed."
